THE SCENARIO
The Development of the Southern Region has now reached its crossroads. Realizing its immense potentials, the Prime Minister placed the development of the said Region among the priority programs of the government. To achieve this, important projects shall be carried out to ensure the success in the development of the region. First phase of the development plan is to build and repair a network of hi-ways and bridges that will link all the municipalities and cities within the region.
While the 1st phase of the development plan is on-going, there have been numerous reports about incidents of a Militia, being operated by yet unknown warlords, attacks on both the government agencies and private companies which are directly involved in the implementation of the developmental projects. This confirms the intelligence report that the local Militia will not allow the government in pursuing its plans for the region.
It is a fact that the Southern Region has been a stronghold of the Militia Forces for many decades. They view the government initiative as an action that may contribute to the collapse of their mass base, exploitation of their resources and eventually may lead them in loosing their occupied territories.
Due to the pressure coming from the investors, politicians, and the Prime minister’s desire to show his supremacy, he declared an all-out war against the Militia and gave an order to the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces to flush-out all the Militia Forces from the Southern Region at all cost. This operation shall be known and remembered as: Operation: Southern Thundestrike!
